The car door handle cold dark steel

The car door handle, cold, dark steel.

My fingers reach, a simple thing.

Then, a sharp, quick, electric feel,

a tiny pop, a sudden sting.

A bluish flash, a brief, small star,

between my skin and metal's edge.

A little shock, no matter how far

I've come, still finds its tiny wedge.

It’s gone as quickly as it came,

that snap, that spark, that hidden bite.

Leaving only a phantom flame,

a memory of sudden light.

#electric shock
