Privacy Policy

This page explains what we store to run The Poet's Place and how that information is used.

It is written in plain language and stays close to how the product actually works: private work should remain private, public work should only be public when you choose it, and AI features should be described honestly.

What we store

We store the information needed to run the platform: account details, profile details, poems, drafts, collections, comments, messages, and the inputs and outputs tied to tutor reviews and poem analysis.

We also store routine technical information such as timestamps, request logs, browser or device data, and security-related records that help keep the service working.

How we use it

We use this information to provide the service, keep accounts working, store and render poems, run community features, respond to support questions, and protect the platform from misuse.

We also use it to deliver features you ask for, including tutor reviews, poem analysis, search, discovery, recommendations, and related archive features.

Public and private visibility

Private poems, drafts, private collections, and private analysis are intended to remain private unless you choose to change their visibility.

Public poems, quotes, comments, collections, and related activity are visible to other users so the platform can display, organize, and circulate them.

AI processing

When you request tutor feedback or poem analysis, that request may be processed by third-party AI providers acting on our behalf.

We use those providers to deliver the feature you asked for. We do not use your content to train our own models, and we do not sell your data or share it for advertising.

Cookies, local storage, and analytics

The app uses essential cookies or local storage for things like authentication, language, theme, and other core product behavior. Those are part of keeping the service working.

Analytics tools such as Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics should only run after you give analytics consent. If you leave analytics off, the product should continue to work with essential storage only.

Service providers

Some parts of the service rely on outside providers that help with infrastructure, delivery, storage, security, or AI processing. They only receive what is needed for that part of the service to work.

We do not treat those providers as advertising partners, and we do not share your content with third parties for ad targeting.

Your choices

You keep ownership of your writing. You can edit or delete content, choose what stays private, choose what becomes public, and use supported export features where the product offers them.

You can also control analytics consent separately from essential product storage.
