The Glitch in My Wiring

Saw you by the pickles,

bending down low.

Hair falling, just a slip,

and then my brain said, Go.

Go where? I dropped the jar.

Glass shattered, a stupid sound.

My face felt hot, a flush,

right there on grocery ground.

It's not even a type I like,

not smart, not quiet, not kind.

But something snapped, a wire shorted,

left all my good sense behind.

Now I stutter,

just thinking your dumb name.
