I spoke it all out

I spoke it all out,

laid the bare bones low.

Hoping for some sense,

a place for truth to grow.


But your eyes just slid,

like grease on a pan.

A small, flat nod,

not quite a man.


You said "Hmm, interesting,"

a throwaway line.

Then spoke of your plans,

never mind mine.


My words just dropped,

like stones in a well.

No ripple, no sound,

just a hollow, empty shell.
