The green light blinked

The green light blinked,

then died.

My card, rejected.

Again.

The metal bar, cold

against my stomach.

I pushed.

It didn't give.

Just stubborn.

Immovable.

Like some old, ancient grudge.

People sighed behind me,

the pressure building.

I tried again.

A jiggle, a shove.

Nothing.

Just standing there,

blocked.

By something meant to move.

Refusing.
