Fleeting Light

Caught in the middle of this city,

where shadows twist, familiarity slips,

a friend turns, laughter spilling out,

the sun catches the back of their neck,

light glistening, a soft curl of hair,

a moment, a breath, bright as a dare.

It feels like a secret whispered on skin,

a fleeting glimpse of something we share,

in the crowded space, just a spark within,

a warmth that lingers, hanging in air.

Can you hold this feeling, this bright little thread,

or will it unravel, flickering instead?
