The Hidden Break

Bending low to tie my shoe,

a sharp snap caught beneath the skin.

No sound, just the dull ache that lingers,

a secret fracture buried thin.

The wrist bone presses tight,

a stubborn line beneath the light.

Silent, bruised, it holds its weight,

a quiet reminder of a brittle state.

Pain murmurs low, refuses to speak,

hidden beneath skin stretched thin and weak.

A fault line worn beneath the skin’s thin veil,

a silent fracture that will not heal.
