Disconnecting Without Saying Goodbye

The screen blinks, cursor waiting—

a stubborn pulse in the dim light.

I scroll past headlines I no longer care for,

words fading like old promises.

Click.

The subscription ends,

a small death in digital silence.

No fanfare, no final page,

just the cold click of goodbye

I don’t say out loud.

The empty inbox waits,

a quiet space where something used to live,

a ghost in the machine.
