Finally Believed

I said the thing I’d buried so long,

words that trembled on the edge of my tongue.

You didn’t blink, didn’t scoff,

just held your gaze steady—

a place safe enough for my quiet truth.

Not disbelief, no distance,

just the weight of your eyes saying,

I hear you, I hold you,

you’re not alone in this.

For a moment, the air shifted,

the room softened around the edges,

and my silence found a place to breathe.
