Drawer Collapse

I pulled the drawer—chaos spilled,

cords tangled with old bills and pens.

A missing battery, lost, unfilled,

nestled among forgotten dens.

A broken pen cap, plastic cracked,

tucked next to coupons stamped with dates.

Rubber bands in wild tact,

papers curled like folded fates.

Frustration dumped the jumble floor—

scattered lives in a cluttered pour,

every lost piece a quiet score,

things kept though they’re no more.
