Exit Interview

The boss was buying a pack of gum,

looking tired and acting dumb.

I didn't even have a sneer

for all the time I wasted here.

The blue lanyard is in the bin,

wrapped around a cup of tin.

I learned that when you finally go,

the world is fast and people slow.

The grease on the lid is a murky gray.

I’m already half a mile away.
