Trapped in Silence

Steel walls breathe stale air,

the number flickers, 6 then stops.

Strangers pressed, eyes lowered,

the space shrinks, heartbeat loud,

unnamed tension thickens—

like trapped breaths held too long.

Emergency light blinks

in steady, unforgiving rhythm.

No words rise—only silence

folded in tight between bodies,

tense and mute,

like a word forgotten mid-sentence,

a pause that will not let go.
