Disconnected Mid-Sentence

You cut off — static humming loud,

my voice a feather lost in cloud.

Mid-rant, mid-plea, the screen went black,

the words I needed never came back.

Silence cracked the line apart,

a sudden end, a broken heart.

One blinking dot, no fix, no friend,

just words suspended without end.

I held the phone like it might speak,

but found no voice, no word to keep.

The moment died between our breaths,

unfinished stories, empty depths.
