Sidewalk Bleeding Color

Cracked pavement smeared with chalk, pink and blue—

fading sketches where feet once flew.

A heart half washed by yesterday’s rain,

streaked and blurred like a whispered pain.

Hopscotch squares missing their lines,

small hands pressed here in innocent signs.

Footprints press on brittle art,

erasing stories drawn apart.

Kids' laughter lost in cloudy grey,

chalk dust whispers where they played.
