Between Signals

The screen flickers,

a hiss and crackle in the dark.

Voices break—words lost in sparks.

White noise falling

like distant snow on windowpanes,

the silence fills the empty frames.

Questions hanging,

unanswered, static hums.

A voice that breaks but never comes.

Buzz and sputter,

the cold pulse of a dying screen.

I listen close to what’s unseen.
