Warmth in a Vessel

Clink of metal and plastic,

the rattling lid loose,

coffee spills, steam rising in a cold bus air.

My hands grip the dented body,

worn from years of holding tight,

trying to keep heat alive through rattled streets.

Each sip a small claim,

a quiet comfort held close,

a reminder that warmth is often cracked,

and still worth the effort.
