Fractured Reflections

Cracked glass catches broken light,

red tail lights bleed into the night.

Sudden brake, a sharp refrain,

shards slice through yesterday’s pain.

The mirror holds a fractured scene,

where past and present intervene.

Regrets hang heavy, soft and dim,

smudged impressions at the rim.

Behind me, ghosts creep low and slow,

behind the glass, what won’t let go.

Reflected wrongs I can’t unsee,

cracked reflections follow me.
