Unseen Contact

On the subway, a flicker,

an eyelash stuck

on the curve of a stranger’s cheek.

A soft, unnoticed fragment

clinging to a face I will never know.

The city moves in rush and roar,

but here, a stillness —

a small, accidental touch

between someone and something fragile.

I catch the moment sideways,

a quiet, delicate un-belonging,

a single lash adrift on skin.

---

An eyelash, no one feels it but me,

a trace of someone else’s silent story.
