Twang of Impatience

The rubber band stretched thin—

a tight wire of sudden sound.

Snap! It cuts through the stillness,

surprising the empty room.

Like a breath held too long,

a quick release, a sharp break

from daydreams tangled in paperwork.

Small frustrations—twanged tight—

breaking free in a sudden snap.

It lands, a limp circle,

a quiet aftermath

of stretched-out, waiting time.

---

That twang is impatience,

a sharp thread breaking loose,

reminding me I’m still here.
