The Silent Goodbye

Fingers scroll past time-stamped memories,

flickering like ghosts on a cracked screen.

Smiles frozen in laughter, half a lifetime ago—

no numbers left to call, no voices to pick up.

You dissolved quietly, a word unsaid,

an apology never spoken, a closing door

left ajar but never crossed.

I wonder if you remember the quiet

or the space where we stopped trying.

No goodbye, just silence, a digital graveyard

where our conversations lie forgotten,

till nostalgia clicks and pulls me down

to the weight of missing you,

a ghost tethered to an empty line.
