Peeling Pain in Sticky Layers

Slow pull—the sting of glue tearing

skin thin, sticky film snagging

dead cells and fragile flesh alike.

The sharp rip echoes through quiet

like a brittle confession,

leaving behind raw maps of hurt

etched in uneven patches.

Edges curl, curling away like secrets

that refuse to let go cleanly,

peeling back the stubborn skin

until all that remains

is the ache left hanging.
