The phone glows with words I never answered

The phone glows with words I never answered,

half-read messages like unread prayers

floating in the dark.

He warned me once about the end coming,

a shadow stretched thin over text bubbles.

I kept typing replies I never sent,

a slow dance with regret in the silence.

Now the screen is cracked,

and I trace the ghost of his voice

between the blinking cursors,

waiting for a conversation

that never came.
