and then, behind it, caught

by something sticky, that

tiny square of paper.

Corners soft, almost felt,

like worn velvet, a child's

attempt at a house, maybe,

or a dog.

Faded crayon lines,

blue roof, green ground,

held tight for years

without thought or reason.

Just there.
