Just Vanish, Quietly

Another 'urgent' email.

Another demand for my attention.

My name, printed there, a heavy veil.

The thought of answering is apprehension.

I just want to step out of it.

Out of the frame, out of the light.

Not to cease, just to quit

being visible. To just take flight

into the soft blur of background.

To stop being found, or needed.

No goodbyes, no profound

statements. Just quiet. Unheeded.
