Glass Cage

A small moment of panic, I admit,

just for a second, stuck in the spin.

The glass pressed against me, bit by bit,

trapping the feeling I had within.

The rush of others, they just glided by,

seamless, without a break or a pause.

My reflection, warped, caught my own eye,

held by the door's indifferent laws.

Then it released me, with a quiet whoosh,

into the lobby's cool, indifferent air.

Leaving me with a sudden, silent gush

of what it means to be nowhere.
