Fleeting Youth

A photograph found, a moment in time,

my siblings together, with laughter and rhyme.

Yet I sit in the corner, a shadow, a mime,

left out of the frame, caught in my prime.

They danced in the sun, while I lingered in shade,

was I too young to join in the charade?

A fleeting youth captured, the memory laid,

while I stood on the sidelines, a debt I now paid.

It stings like the laughter that echoes so bright,

a family in motion, a glorious sight.

But in each frame I’m missing, a longing ignites,

as time rushes by, I grapple with bites.
