Dust and Dreams

A drift of sawdust spirals

in sunlit swirls, scattering

across my porch like fallen wishes,

faded sketches of plans never made.

I watch the grains slip away,

shadows of the past, they linger

in the air like secrets too heavy

for the earth, too light to hold on.
