Double-Booked

I checked one date and got

the whole month.

Blue over green over orange,

Thursday a bruise

I made with both hands.

Six days I walked around

not knowing I'd agreed

to be in two places at once—

and the worst part is

I'd been showing up to things.

Smiling.

Nodding when someone asked if I was free.

I held the phone out

like it had made a mistake,

the blocks so dense they overlapped

and something I'd promised

had been pressing against something else

the entire time.

I still haven't fixed it.

I looked up what to cancel

and then I put the phone face-down.
