Unwanted Portrait

Edges curled like tired hands,

a photo folds where memory lands.

Eyes that dodge the looking glass,

a face caught breaking, cracked like glass.

Faded corners yellow with regret,

a moment trapped I can’t forget.

I see the weight that I denied,

the cracked smile, the breath held inside.

It’s a ghost framed in dull light,

my least favorite frozen fight.

Dust clings to what I’d undo,

a fractured self I never knew.
