Endless Spin

Round and round they go,

swallowed by glass and steel,

faces blurred in hurry,

never quite stepping out.

She complained at work today—

"It spins too fast," she said,

a laugh tangled with exhaustion,

like being stuck in a joke you don’t get.

People pushing, pulling,

a dizzy carousel where no one wins,

just the same small circle,

a breath caught between the in and out.

I watched it whirl,

thought of trying to break free,

but got caught in the spin,

losing track of where I began.
