queen poppy

my love's petals red satin

her delicate edges burnt

and sharp

one touch will numb you

one inhale to black my vision

frost just covers her feet

I watch her sway

as the snow falls onto my face

a single flake is inhaled

cold climbing through my veins

the frost forms at my feet

as my cheeks go flush

the lush poppy field surrounds

your lavender field

your hands squeeze my hips

pulling me against your chest

away from her

your pink wings encapsulate me

your olive skin and white hair

fill my vision

your neck smells of lavender

your wings ignite

scorching my powdery white face

your flame traveling up my nose

your eyes grey

as my pupils dilate

my fingers reach out

towards the poppy

frost creeps over the poppy slowly

stopping just short of my fingertips

my head rests on your shoulder

staring out

as the last of your embers

float into my nose

my fingers tremble as they stretch further

still unable to touch the glittering poppy

my vision finally blackening

as I crumble into white flakes

falling into the snow

you lie in

snow hugging you

poppy wrapping around your waist

climbing up as you stand

your dress white with poppies

flowing in it

a crown woven from lavender grows from your head

skin olive

hair grey

your warmth radiates melting

me

your dress melting to blue

flowing down to the snow fields

as I river behind you

poppy petals running across my surface
