Cracked Mirror, Strange Face

A face breaks over fractured glass,

shards split dusk as shadows pass.

Eyes I know, but don’t recognize—

a tired jaw, a stranger’s guise.

I blink—hoping the cracks will shift,

yet the stranger stays, a slow drift.

The glass bends light into something strange,

a self I can't quite arrange.

Staring long into the dusk’s gray,

I meet someone who looks away.
