Bent Wire

Cleaning out the shed's dust,

a box I thought was rust.

My fingers found a wire,

a faded, copper fire.

It was bent into a loop,

a forgotten, small scoop.

Dull gleam, flecked with green,

the strangest thing I'd seen.

What was it meant to hold?

A story left untold.

A small weight in my hand,

from some forgotten land.
