A Small Reminder

Tracing the curve, I find it there,

a hollow in skin, a soft, subtle care.

This little reminder of who I was,

a secret stitched tight, an unbroken cause.

It links to beginnings, the warmth of my mother,

a fragile connection, unlike any other.

In quiet moments, I ponder and sigh,

how something so small can carry the sky.

Beneath the surface, where memories lie,

wrapped in the skin, never asking why.

I stand and I wonder, feeling the weight,

of all that I’ve carried, of love and of fate.
