Submerged Reflection

I dive deep, the world above fades,

light flickers, a dance that cascades.

At the bottom, silence wraps me tight,

bubbles drifting, ghostly in flight.

Air pleading, a pressure too grand,

the surface a promise, a distant strand.

How quickly the weight can bring me low,

and teach me of stillness I’d never know.

I touch the tiles, cool and unkind,

reflecting my thoughts, the chaos in mind.

In the quiet, I sink, yet I fight,

searching for breath in the watery night.
