Fading Sounds

A message appears, bright on the screen,

a name that once echoed, now feels like a dream.

What did your laughter, your whispers once say?

Now, words fade softly, like shadows in gray.

I scroll through the threads, searching for clues,

but every response feels like yesterday’s news.

Memories dance just out of reach,

a ghost of connection that nothing can teach.

Silence lingers where your voice used to live,

a haunting reminder of what we forgive.

I listen for echoes, but find only space,

and wonder if forgetting has left me no trace.
