In February’s chill resolutions fade

In February’s chill, resolutions fade,

my gym bag lies flat, a forgotten dream,

a promise made in the hope that I’d trade

comfort for strength—now frayed at the seam.

The mirror reflects someone I barely know,

a ghost of ambition tucked under my skin,

these dreams made of wishes, now bitter and slow,

a January spark lost to February’s din.

#self doubt #winter melancholy
