The Sound of a Printer

In the hush of the office, the printer hums,

a mechanical breath, spitting words like breathless sighs,

each page a reminder of what still comes,

a pile of reports under fluorescent lies.

Thoughts scatter like leaves in a wind-torn storm,

deadlines loom, casting shadows long and deep,

my indecision vibrates, a mounting swarm,

and in this quiet chaos, I struggle to keep.
