Fragments of a Celebration

An envelope rests, crisp against my palm,

elegant lettering, whispers of calm.

I can almost hear laughter, the clink of the glass,

a moment of joy where I watch from the grass.

Dresses flow like rivers, love spilling from vows,

I’m tucked in the corner, just wearing my brows.

A heart wades through envy, as petals fall free,

my own dreams feel fractured, a future to flee.

I stand on the sidelines, where joy meets the air,

while others exchange glances, their hearts laid bare.

Just fragments of happiness float through the haze,

but here in the quiet, I feel the heart’s blaze.
