A Blackout

The lights flickered out, the hum vanished cold,

leaving me trapped in a silence so thick.

Outside the storm raged, a chaos unrolled,

while my world stood still, time slipping, a trick.

I reached for the glow of my screen in the dark,

but the flickering light offered no comforting glow.

Only shadows that danced like a silent remark,

as my thoughts melted slow, all the worries laid low.

For a moment, just me and the silence so loud,

a disconnection that filled up the space.

The power might fade, but the mind’s still unbowed,

a blackout that lingers—a quiet embrace.
