Moments on the Train

In the rush of the morning, the train lurches slow,

a sardine can packed, faces all aglow.

But a smile breaks through, a flicker of light,

in the chaos of travel, it cuts through the night.

Across the aisle, a stranger’s warm eyes,

crack open my heart like a burst of blue skies.

A moment so brief, yet it changes the way

I step off the platform, I’m lighter today.

The hum of the wheels fades as I walk on,

carrying warmth where the darkness was drawn.

A spark in the mundane, a reminder to see,

how small things can matter, how simple can be.
