Fading Glory

A single sunflower, bent in the garden,

breathes a sigh, its golden crown now droops,

yellow petals frayed like the pages of a book

once vibrant but now tired, stained by the wind.

I wonder how quickly glory can dim,

as bees once buzzed around this weary king,

a reminder that brightness fades—left to wither,

just like yesterday’s promise and the hope it held.
