Solitude in the Ascension

In an elevator's hush, I let my mind roam,

a private space where the world feels like home.

I push buttons slowly, pretend I’m in flight,

each ding like a bell, a beacon of light.

Alone, I dance in the still, muted glow,

small quirks I embrace, as the floors come and go.

A smile to the mirror, a laugh with my fate,

a moment just for me, it’s never too late.

I ride up in silence, but it’s not all a gloom,

for inside this small box, I find room to bloom.
