Fumbling for Words

In a crowded café, voices like streams,

I stutter and fumble, unraveling seams.

My tongue trips over thoughts, a clumsy retreat,

searching for sweetness, but finding defeat.

An orange slice lingers, sharp in my mind,

a taste I once knew, now so hard to find.

Two sugars, please, but the words slip away,

yet in silence, I wander, where shadows now play.
