Invisible in Company

Amidst the laughter, I feel the cold air,

a crowded café, yet nobody cares.

Eyes drift around me, I stand out of sight,

trapped in a bubble that swallows the light.

A stranger’s glance brushes but never connects,

a pull of the chair left untouched, full of wrecks.

I’m lost in the noise, a ghost in the throng,

my heart whispers softly, I don't belong.
