Edge of a Decision

There it lies, still, in the corner so stark,

a glint of steel, quiet, a touch of the dark.

Memories linger, of moments once raw,

a tool for the mundane, or maybe for more.

How small and how sharp, a decision that’s tough,

its presence invites, yet the choices feel rough.

Untouched it sits, in the clean of the shelf,

like promises made to a shuddering self.
