I catch my reflection in the glass

I catch my reflection in the glass,

my shoulders slumped, the day’s shadows pass.

Feet shifting on concrete, a hesitant dance,

a body withdrawn, like I’ve missed my chance.

Someone bumps by, doesn’t say a word,

a sting in my chest, their silence absurd.

In the city’s rush, I realize with dread,

my posture speaks volumes of all that’s unsaid.
