Fading Beauty

In the garden, once bright, the roses have bowed,
petals flutter down like whispers from clouds.
A storm that arrived, uninvited, unkind,
left them in puddles, their colors confined.
What thrived in the sun now wilts in the rain,
roots sinking deeper, yet feeling the strain.
Each drop a reminder of promise now lost,
a beauty decaying, a heart's heavy cost.
