Illuminated Loneliness

The candle flickers, a vigil of one,

casting shadows that dart, then freeze in the sun.

The room feels abandoned, yet holds its own space,

where silence becomes a soft, lingering trace.

Wax drips down like forgotten tears,

marking the passage of unvoiced fears.

Each crackle disturbs the weight of the air,

a whisper of absence, a question laid bare.
