Waterlogged Letter

The cup had tipped, a sudden spill,

and where it touched, the paper lay still.

Your words, all sharp, were once so clean,

now bled and blurred, a murky scene.

The fibers softened, thin and bright,

revealed a shadow to the light.

Not just the front, but what you'd hid,

the other side, beneath the lid

of your careful prose, came shining through.

A fragile truth, stark and true.
